Buying in Lake Mitchell
Lake Mitchell is an Alabama Power lake on the Coosa River, in Chilton County and Coosa County. The dam is near Verbena. The Chilton County side is north of the Pine Level office along US-31, and north of Clanton. It is not Lake Martin. Alabama Power manages the shoreline, so docks and similar work follow their rules. Taxes and permits follow the parcel's county. Company listings are on the listings page. We do not quote prices here.
Selling in Lake Mitchell
Ask for a market analysis on the house or lot. We list with a named agent on MyState MLS. This page does not list prices or sold prices. Ask us about a specific property. When a house sale calls for a wood-infestation report, that report is a WIR (Wood Infestation Report).
Investing in Lake Mitchell
A hold at the lake is still one parcel. Taxes, loans, and any rental rules are not answered on this page. The Irvine Group leases houses. Irvine Builders builds. We do not promise a return.
Building in Lake Mitchell
Shoreline rules, septic, and the county permit come before a house plan. Irvine Builders is the separate builder, AL Home Builders #26927, at irvinebuildersllc.com. No build prices on this page. We are not the lender.

What people ask us about Lake Mitchell
- Who controls the shoreline? Alabama Power owns and manages the reservoir. Docks, piers, seawalls, and other shoreline work fall under Alabama Power's shoreline rules, so check them before you buy or build.
- Which county? Taxes, permits, and the probate office follow the county the parcel is in. Check the parcel.
- Does the water level change? Alabama Power posts lake levels on its Lake Mitchell page. Full pool is 312 feet above sea level.
- Sewer or septic? Much rural land here relies on septic. Alabama's health department says to check sewer availability first. If there is no sewer, the soil has to be tested before a septic permit can be issued. See "Build on your lot."
